Memory Pricing Guide |
Weekly Memory Prices - Week of December 23, 2002 - Page 2By Vangie Beal December 24, 2002Throughout malls across the nation we see nothing but huge sale signs, displayed by merchants hoping to catch a few more of those freely spent holiday dollars. Online is a different story however, as it would seem online memory vendors never gave Christmas deals a second thought! For those who held off buying in the hopes that this time of year would bring us better prices, well... it's sad to say you'll be disappointed by this week's SDRAM prices. IN fact, we only have three lower prices to report. PC133 CAS3 512-MB is down $2 to $57, PC133 CAS3 256-MB dropped by $3 to $35, and PC150 512-MB fell $6 to $74 this week. The biggest SDRAM price change was a gain as PC133 ECC 512-MB went up $8 to $56. DDR SDRAM follows the same disappointing pattern, bringing very few price changes overall. PC3200 256-MB dropped $3 to $61, and PC3200 512-MB is also down a bit (falling $5 to $135). The biggest increase here is on PC2700 256-MB which rose $6 to $57 over the past week. This week RDRAM proves to be the mover and shaker of the bunch, but again it's nothing too flashy or anything that will make you rush online to buy. 184-pin PC1066 256-MB is down $5 to $93 and PC800 ECC 256-MB is down $4 to $84. A couple have also gone done by $1 and $3 - and this week we don't have a single RDRAM price increase to report. Much to our dismay, we just aren't going to get a break on memory upgrades. Indirectly, those purchasing online will still benefit from free and super-cheap shipping rates which many vendors are currently offering. If you've decided a memory upgrade is for you in the very near future, remember to choose wisely and to verify purchase prices directly from a vendor before buying. As we head of into the start of another fun but usually hectic holiday season remember to stay safe and enjoy the holidays! Hopefully you'll find that stick of memory in your stocking this year!
We'd like to take this opportunity to assure you that SharkyExtreme has no affiliation with any vendor listed in our guide, but our memory price charts do take more than just the basic dollar amount into consideration. Here are just a few examples to highlight some of the many things we keep in mind when compiling a price guide - which may translate into the price you see in our guide being different than one you find:
Since we don't have a direct line to every vendor doing business online, so if you know of a company selling quality products at decent prices that isn't making our price guide, feel free to drop us a line with the vendors URL, so we can check them out as well! Feedback (of any kind) on the Weekly Memory Prices is always read and appreciated! Until next week - happy upgrading!
