Memory Pricing Guide |
Weekly Memory Prices - Week of December 30, 2002 - Page 2By Vangie Beal December 31, 2002This week in SDRAM memory, we're seeing a few slight price drops, the odd price increase, and generally not a whole lot of changes across the board. PC100 modules show the biggest change as all but two of those listed have gone up in price. For those looking specifically at PC100 CAS2 ECC 256-MB you'll be paying $60 for it this week - an increase of $8. PC100 CAS2 256-MB rose $3 to $46 and a few more PC100 modules are up by a buck as well. PC133 looks a tad bit better with a $3 drop on PC133 ECC 512-MB (now at $63), and you'll also save a couple of dollars on both PC133 ECC 128-MB and PC133 CAS3 128-MB. Of late we've seen more price drops than increases on DDR SDRAM, but this week there is a bit of both. PC3200 512-MB and PC2400 256-MB are both down by $5, and PC2700 256-MB fell $7 to $50. On the up side we see that PC2700 512-MB gained $4 and PC3200 256-MB increased slightly as well. RDRAM prices remain pretty stable with only three types going up in price by $1. The only price drop we see here is the small $3 drop on PC800 256-MB which now sits at $73. Overall we're seeing memory prices holding steady. While consumers aren't paying out much more for memory this week than they would have last, we're also not getting any major price breaks here. Going into early-2003 it's tough to see memory prices leaning heavily in either direction. As we head into 2003, I'd like to take just a moment to wish you a safe and happy New Year - and thank you for your many comments and feedback e-mails on the Memory price Guide throughout the past year. Keep them coming!
We'd like to take this opportunity to assure you that SharkyExtreme has no affiliation with any vendor listed in our guide, but our memory price charts do take more than just the basic dollar amount into consideration. Here are just a few examples to highlight some of the many things we keep in mind when compiling a price guide - which may translate into the price you see in our guide being different than one you find:
Since we don't have a direct line to every vendor doing business online, so if you know of a company selling quality products at decent prices that isn't making our price guide, feel free to drop us a line with the vendors URL, so we can check them out as well! Feedback (of any kind) on the Weekly Memory Prices is always read and appreciated! Until next week - happy upgrading!
