Memory Pricing Guide |
Weekly Memory Prices - Week of January 13, 2003 - Page 2By Vangie Beal January 14, 2003This week SDRAM prices remain pretty stable, showing only small $1 to $3 price changes. PC100 displays only $1 changes with PC100 CAS2 128-MB up by $1 with PC100 CAS3 128-MB and PC100 CAS3 256-MB each down by $1. PC133 is a bit more mixed in its changes, but the biggest is an increase on PC133 ECC 256-MB, which is up by $3 to $36 this week. While SDRAM prices are shifting, we don't have any big price changes to report. This week, DDR prices again head downward, and we see price drops ranging from $2 to $9. PC2100 512-MB is down $6 to $83, while PC3200 512-MB also dropped by $9 to sit at $118. The third big drop this week is also on a 512-MB module; PC2700 512-MB decreased $8 to $96. The best news is that we don't have a single price increase in the DDR category. RDRAM is the usual mixed bag of goodies, but this week the price drops, though slight, outweigh the increases. The only RIMM up in price is PC800 ECC 512-MB which rose $4 to $226. PC800 512-MB is down $3 to $212, and we see a couple other $2 drops as well. Overall DDR prices are dropping, and across the board we see 512-MB modules on their way down in price as well. Hopefully if you held off until this week to purchase that memory upgrade, you're able to save a few dollars. Until next week, happy upgrading and please remember to verify prices on the vendor's website should you decide now is the time to buy.
We'd like to take this opportunity to assure you that SharkyExtreme has no affiliation with any vendor listed in our guide, but our memory price charts do take more than just the basic dollar amount into consideration. Here are just a few examples to highlight some of the many things we keep in mind when compiling a price guide - which may translate into the price you see in our guide being different than one you find:
Since we don't have a direct line to every vendor doing business online, so if you know of a company selling quality products at decent prices that isn't making our price guide, feel free to drop us a line with the vendors URL, so we can check them out as well! Feedback (of any kind) on the Weekly Memory Prices is always read and appreciated! Until next week - happy upgrading!
