Weekly Memory Prices - Week of February 17, 2003 - Page 2By Vangie Beal February 18, 2003This week SDRAM prices remain pretty stable, showing only a couple slight $1 and $2 changes. PC100 CAS3 128-MB and PC133 CAS3 256-MB are both up by $1 while PC133 ECC 512-MB rose by $2. Other than those three modules, we don't have any other price changes to report. While that isn't the best of news for those who had hoped to save a few dollars on SDRAM this week - it does mean we won't be shelling out any extra. For those looking at a DDR upgrade, you're sure to be pleased with a couple of this week's price drops. We have the standard fare of smaller $2 price decreases, but along with those PC2100 512-MB dropped $11 to $53, and PC3200 512-MB went down by $13 to $85 this week. The only increase to be found was on PC2700 256mb which is up $5 to $31. It's another calm week for RDRAM with only small fluctuations in prices. Only two RIMMs reflect a price change; PC1066 256-MB (232 pin) is down $2 to $88 while PC800 ECC 256-MB is up $3 to $86. As noted earlier, it's nice to see that prices either held steady or, in a couple instances, even dropped a bit. It's a good time to take advantage of those "over $10" price drops on DDR SDRAM this week if that's the particular flavor you're shopping for. Until next week, happy upgrading and please remember to verify prices on the vendor's website should you decide now is the time to buy.
We'd like to take this opportunity to assure you that SharkyExtreme has no affiliation with any vendor listed in our guide, but our memory price charts do take more than just the basic dollar amount into consideration. Here are just a few examples to highlight some of the many things we keep in mind when compiling a price guide - which may translate into the price you see in our guide being different than one you find:
Since we don't have a direct line to every vendor doing business online, so if you know of a company selling quality products at decent prices that isn't making our price guide, feel free to drop us a line with the vendors URL, so we can check them out as well! Feedback (of any kind) on the Weekly Memory Prices is always read and appreciated! Until next week - happy upgrading!
