Memory Pricing Guide |
Weekly Memory Prices - Week of March 10, 2003 - Page 2By Vangie Beal March 11, 2003SDRAMSDRAM experienced some ups and downs this week, with no obvious trends emerging between PC100, PC133 or PC150 modules. The price increases and decreases only ranged from $1 to $2, along with a $3 drop on PC133 ECC 128-MB. The more esoteric PC150 512-MB can be had for $80, which is down $8 from last week's price. DDR SDRAM prices are still dropping somewhat, but we do see more price increases this week as compared to last. PC2100 128-MB is down $3 to $12 while both PC2100 256-MB and 512-MB are up by a couple of bucks each. PC2400 prices remain unchanged, and this week's big drop (if you could call it that) is on PC2700 512-MB which fell by $5 to an even $50. RDRAM prices, which are usually the slowest to move in any direction, once again show either no price changes or slight drops. PC800 512-MB and PC800 ECC 256-MB both are down by $3, while PC800 ECC 128-MB modules decreased by $2. These three are the only RDRAM price changes for the week. Current memory prices remain very close to last week's levels, with DDR SDRAM looking to be the best buy right now, and certainly a category worth watching if you're looking at a future upgrade. Consumers looking to upgrade memory won't be saving a whole lot, but there are still some good deals if you chose to wait an extra week.
We'd like to take this opportunity to assure you that SharkyExtreme has no affiliation with any vendor listed in our guide, but our memory price charts do take more than just the basic dollar amount into consideration. Here are just a few examples to highlight some of the many things we keep in mind when compiling a price guide - which may translate into the price you see in our guide being different than one you find:
Since we don't have a direct line to every vendor doing business online, so if you know of a company selling quality products at decent prices that isn't making our price guide, feel free to drop us a line with the vendors URL, so we can check them out as well! Feedback (of any kind) on the Weekly Memory Prices is always read and appreciated! Until next week - happy upgrading!
