Memory Pricing Guide |
Weekly Memory Prices - Week of May 12, 2003 - Page 2By Vangie Beal May 13, 2003SDRAMThis week our SDRAM price list remains, for the most part, largely unchanged. In the PC100 listings the only shifts we found were a $3 price drop on PC100 CAS2 256-MB, and a $3 increase on the CAS3 variety. PC133 prices reflect only two price drops for this week; PC133 ECC 128-MB is down $3 to $21 and PC133 ECC 256-MB dropped $2 to $37. The good news for this week is that the majority of price changes affecting DDR memory have been of the negative variety. The single increase was to PC2100 128-MB which is up by only $3. A few modules dropped by $1 and $2 but the real deal is on PC2100 512-MB which we found listed at $13 below last week's price. If you're in the market for this memory you'll be able to snag it for $34. Only three RIMMs on our list show any price change it all. The biggest shift is a $6 increase on PC800 512-MB, which now sits at $163. PC800 256-MB is also up this week, checking in with a $3 increase. The only price decrease we found was a scant $1 drop on PC800 ECC 128-MB modules. If you didn't make it to the order desk last week then don't worry, as prices haven't jumped too much in the last seven days. Memory prices remain quite stable, though there are certainly a few deals to be had, especially on PC2100 512-MB. Everyone loves to see DDR SDRAM prices fall, and although the cuts are growing smaller, this trend has continued over the last few months. Hopefully if you held off another week before purchasing that memory upgrade you're able to save a few dollars. So until next week, happy upgrading and please remember to verify prices on the vendor's website should you decide now is the time to buy.
We'd like to take this opportunity to assure you that SharkyExtreme has no affiliation with any vendor listed in our guide, but our memory price charts do take more than just the basic dollar amount into consideration. Here are just a few examples to highlight some of the many things we keep in mind when compiling a price guide - which may translate into the price you see in our guide being different than one you find:
Since we don't have a direct line to every vendor doing business online, so if you know of a company selling quality products at decent prices that isn't making our price guide, feel free to drop us a line with the vendors URL, so we can check them out as well! Feedback (of any kind) on the Weekly Memory Prices is always read and appreciated! Until next week - happy upgrading!
