Memory Pricing Guide |
Weekly Memory Prices - Week of May 26, 2003 - Page 2By Vangie Beal May 27, 2003SDRAMFrom an overall point of view, our SDRAM price list reflects very few changes from last week. We see only a couple prices increases, and two modules in particular have increased by over $5: PC100 CAS3 128-MB is up $9 to $39 while PC150 256-MB is up $8 to $69 for the week. Thankfully, additional price increases are of the $1 and $2 variety. On the down side, we don't have much to report here, with the only SDRAM price drops for the week being $1 and $2 decreases. This week's DDR SDRAM prices appear to be on the rise. Only three modules remain unchanged, and we didn't have a single price drop in this category. Most of the higher prices reflect mainly smaller $1 and $2 increases, save for PC2100 512-MB, which is up $5 to $38 this week. DDR SDRAM is still affordably priced, but on a slight upswing. Hopefully you weren't waiting for RDRAM to stir things up this week. As usual, RDRAM is still the "sleeper section" of our guide, and while we skip even the slight $1 and $2 price drops this week, the modules which have increased in price really haven't gone up by much. PC800 ECC 256-MB rose $4 to $87, and a couple others have hit the standard $1 or $2 price increase list for this week. It is another slow week for memory prices, though we did see a couple listings in the SDRAM rise more than expected. Overall prices are holding steady, and for those who didn't jump on the upgrade train last week, no biggie, as things haven't changed all that much. So until next week, happy upgrading and please remember to verify prices on the vendor's website should you decide now is the time to buy.
We'd like to take this opportunity to assure you that SharkyExtreme has no affiliation with any vendor listed in our guide, but our memory price charts do take more than just the basic dollar amount into consideration. Here are just a few examples to highlight some of the many things we keep in mind when compiling a price guide - which may translate into the price you see in our guide being different than one you find:
Since we don't have a direct line to every vendor doing business online, so if you know of a company selling quality products at decent prices that isn't making our price guide, feel free to drop us a line with the vendors URL, so we can check them out as well! Feedback (of any kind) on the Weekly Memory Prices is always read and appreciated! Until next week - happy upgrading!
