Memory Pricing Guide |
Memory Prices - Week of July 7, 2003 - Page 2By Vangie Beal July 8, 2003SDRAMAfter seeing SDRAM prices on the rise in our last guide, it is rather refreshing to have more stable prices for this week. The PC100 and PC133 listings show a few $1 and $2 price changes (increases and decreases) but we find only two substantial price changes; both being increases. PC133 CAS3 512-MB is up $10 to $79 while PC133 ECC 128-MB is up to $32 - a $7 rise. For those in the market for DDR SDRAM, you'll be pleased to hear that there were only very mild prices changes. If you're looking for either PC2100 512-MB or PC2700 512-MB, it will cost an extra $2 this week, but thankfully PC3200 512-MB buyers will enjoy a savings of $2. Overall DDR prices here quite stable, showing only these slight $1 and $2 changes for the week. This week we see PC800 256-MB up $3 to $88, but both PC1066 types are showing the biggest RDRAM price fluctuations. The 232-pin variety is up $6 to $82, while PC1066 256-MB (184-pin) is down $4 to $81. Short of these three modules, the remainder of our RDRAM listing shows only a few $1 price changes. Overall memory prices have settled down a bit after our last guide, where prices were definitely on the upswing. This week, consumers won't be shelling out much more money on memory upgrades, as most price changes were quite small. If you're looking to save even more money, keep an eye on your favorite vendor's website and watch for free or discount shipping deals - that alone could be worth a few dollars in the end price. Until next week, happy upgrading and please remember to verify prices on the vendor's website should you decide now is the time to buy.
We'd like to take this opportunity to assure you that SharkyExtreme has no affiliation with any vendor listed in our guide, but our memory price charts do take more than just the basic dollar amount into consideration. Here are just a few examples to highlight some of the many things we keep in mind when compiling a price guide - which may translate into the price you see in our guide being different than one you find:
Since we don't have a direct line to every vendor doing business online, so if you know of a company selling quality products at decent prices that isn't making our price guide, feel free to drop us a line with the vendors URL, so we can check them out as well! Feedback (of any kind) on the Weekly Memory Prices is always read and appreciated! Until next week - happy upgrading!
