Memory Pricing Guide |
Memory Prices - Week of September 15, 2003 - Page 2By Vangie Beal September 16, 2003SDRAMWith the exception of a few PC133 modules, SDRAM prices show very little change for this week. On the rise is PC133 CAS3 256-MB, found $4 higher at $39. PC133 CAS3 512-MB also went up a couple dollars while PC133 CAS3 128-MB and PC133 CAS2 64-MB dropped $3 and $2 respectively. PC100 CAS2 128-MB was the only PC100 price change found, and that was a slight $3 increase. Again this week we're seeing a few smaller price changes on DDR SDRAM memory, with the majority being in the consumer's favor. While three modules only dribbled down by $1 in price, PC2700 256-MB dropped $2 to $27 and PC3200 512-MB is down $4 to $68. RDRAM is the usual mixed bag of price changes. This week we have two modules down $3: PC800 ECC 256-MB and PC800 ECC 512-MB. On a sour note however, we also have two modules up by $5 in price: PC800 128-MB and PC800 ECC 128-MB. This is a week where the potential savings really depends on the specific RDRAM format you're looking at upgrading. This week consumers won't be shelling out much more money on memory upgrades, as most price changes shown this week were quite small. If you're looking to save even more money, keep an eye on your favorite vendor's website and watch for free or discount shipping deals - that alone could be worth a few dollars in the end price. Until next week, happy upgrading and please remember to verify prices on the vendor's website should you decide now is the time to buy!
We'd like to take this opportunity to assure you that SharkyExtreme has no affiliation with any vendor listed in our guide, but our memory price charts do take more than just the basic dollar amount into consideration. Here are just a few examples to highlight some of the many things we keep in mind when compiling a price guide - which may translate into the price you see in our guide being different than one you find:
Since we don't have a direct line to every vendor doing business online, so if you know of a company selling quality products at decent prices that isn't making our price guide, feel free to drop us a line with the vendors URL, so we can check them out as well! Feedback (of any kind) on the Weekly Memory Prices is always read and appreciated! Until next week - happy upgrading!
