Memory Pricing Guide |
Memory Prices - Week of March 14, 2005 - Page 2By Vangie Beal March 14, 2005SDRAMThis week's SDRAM prices remain unchanged, with the exception of two price drops on PC133 modules. PC133 CAS3 256-MB is down $2 to $50 while PC133 CAS3 512-MB is selling for $91, which is a $4 savings. Those who decided to buy this week as opposed to last, will be glad to note that even in a worst-case scenario, you won't have to shell out any extra money. Our DDR listings this week show price fluctuations that are small, but plentiful. We have the usual mix of $1 price shifts mixed in with $2 and $3 savings on PC2700 512-MB and PC3200 512-MB, respectively. Unfortunately PC4200 256-MB is up $4 and PC4200 512-MB jumped $9 to $189, due in part to a vendor change. We're also listing DDR2 prices from Crucial.com this week, which bring savings ranging from $2 to $4 on each module. RDRAM prices are a mixed bag of goodies this week, with price movement in both directions. If you're in the market for PC800 ECC 256-MB it'll cost you an extra $3, but those looking for PC1066 256-MB (184 pin) will save $9 by purchasing now, as compared to our last price chart. Also rising are PC800 128-MB and PC800 256-MB, which are up in price by $3 and $4 each. Depending on your exact upgrade needs this week, you may be able to save a few dollars, especially on some DDR2, RDRAM and DDR modules. Most price shifts this week are the result of vendor changes and price adjustments as opposed to any larger industry-wide change. As always we remind you to read the fine print on an individual vendor website before buying, and be sure to check scope out a reputable vendor before making an online purchase. Finding a good shipping deal may also offer you a higher dollar savings than the price cuts this week. So until next week, happy upgrading.
We'd like to take this opportunity to assure you that SharkyExtreme has no affiliation with any vendor listed in our guide, but our memory price charts do take more than just the basic dollar amount into consideration. Here are just a few examples to highlight some of the many things we keep in mind when compiling a price guide - which may translate into the price you see in our guide being different than one you find:
Since we don't have a direct line to every vendor doing business online, so if you know of a company selling quality products at decent prices that isn't making our price guide, feel free to drop us a line with the vendors URL, so we can check them out as well! Feedback (of any kind) on the Weekly Memory Prices is always read and appreciated! Until next week - happy upgrading!
