The number of dual-channel DDR platforms continues to increase, and has really created a subset of the memory market. The "matched pair" format is becoming increasingly popular, as these DDR module kits are perfectly suited for the requirements of high-end dual-channel DDR operation, and are a much safer buy than purchasing one module now and hoping to match it up later. The most popular configurations are currently the 2x512-MB and 2x1-GB kits, and with few exceptions, vendors offer the same basic speeds in matched pair DDR kits, as with their single module DDR.
The high-end matched pair DDR listings were again the hotspot of DDR activity, and almost doubled the overall price drop of the single-module chart. In addition to the excellent aggregate decrease, there were also some very significant individual cuts, including a wicked $121 that was sliced off a 2x1-GB pair of OCZ PC3200 EL modules. Corsair XMS PC3200LL 2x1-GB (-$52) came in at second place, and was followed by OCZ PC4800 EL 2x512-MB (-$48), Corsair XMS PC4400 C25 2x512-MB (-$38), and OCZ PC4400 Gold 2x256-MB (-$34). There was a nice mix of 2-GB, 1-GB and 512-MB DDR kits receiving price cuts this week, and there is a potential deal for virtually all buyers.
