Memory Pricing Guide |
Memory Prices - Week of May 23, 2005 - Page 2By SharkyExtreme.com Staff May 23, 2005SDRAMSDRAM modules follow the same pattern as our last two Memory Price Guides, and show very little price changes this week as well. We only have two price changes to report, with the first being a small $1 increase on PC133 CAS2 256-MB, and the second offering a $3 drop on PC133 CAS2 128-MB, which is now selling for $36. This week we see a fair number of negative signs in the DDR/DDR2 "price change" column. PC2100 modules are down $1 to $2 each, while several 512-MB modules have gone down in price as well. Those looking for PC2700 512-MB will save $4, while PC3200 512-MB is down $6 to $41 and the price of PC4000 512-MB also dropped by $6, and sells for $129. Consumers will also save on PC3200 256-MB and DDR2-533 512-MB purchases as well. While several modules remain unchanged in price, we don't have a single price increase this week on DDR/DDR2 memory. This week, our RDRAM listings show a bit more movement compared to the last guide. A few modules are down by small $1 and $2 increment, but the big savings comes in on a $9 savings on PC800 ECC 512-MB which has dropped down to $156. Otherwise, it was a pretty stable week, and we have no RDRAM price increases to report. Overall, our guide shows a few price breaks, and although several modules hit the $5 and over savings mark this week, most price drops remained in the $1 to $2 range. Prices may not be moving down too quickly, but the good news is that there was only one price increase this week. As always, we remind you to read the fine print on vendor websites before buying, confirm the shipping charges, and be sure to scope out a reputable vendor before making any online purchase. So until next week - happy upgrading.
We'd like to take this opportunity to assure you that SharkyExtreme has no affiliation with any vendor listed in our guide, but our memory price charts do take more than just the basic dollar amount into consideration. Here are just a few examples to highlight some of the many things we keep in mind when compiling a price guide - which may translate into the price you see in our guide being different than one you find:
Since we don't have a direct line to every vendor doing business online, so if you know of a company selling quality products at decent prices that isn't making our price guide, feel free to drop us a line with the vendors URL, so we can check them out as well! Feedback (of any kind) on the Weekly Memory Prices is always read and appreciated! Until next week - happy upgrading!
