As with the DDR listings, we are also including a separate chart outlining the price of dual channel DDR2 memory kits. We are also concentrating mainly on DDR2-667 modules, along with a number of higher-end DDR2-800 and DDR2-1000 models, which are continuing to grow. DDR2 has moved well beyond the niche market stage, but it will take some time (and AMD jumping on board) before it becomes the de facto memory standard. Even so, there is a wide selection of matched pair DDR2 kits, including both 2x512-MB and 2x1-GB configurations, and we include listings from both the value and higher-end price ranges.
The matched pair DDR2 price list is kind of anticlimactic, as it easily hit the $100 aggregate chart drop mark, and assured a triple-digit run from single module DDR all the way through. Actually, the total matched pair DDR2 chart decrease was an incredible $416, owing to an incredible eleven double-digit price cuts, and only two prices rising by over $10. The $164 cut to the price of Crucial Ballistix DDR2-1000 2x1-GB was a definite boost, but the OCZ DDR2-800 Gold 2x1-GB (-$57) and Corsair XMS2 DDR2-1066 2x512-MB (-$44) dual channel kits also helped out the bottom line. Once again, it was Crucial right at the top of both the single and dual channel DDR2 lists, just as these did in the DDR charts.
