The number of dual-channel DDR platforms continues to increase, and has really created a different section of the memory market. The "matched pair" format is becoming increasingly popular, as these DDR module kits are perfectly suited for the requirements of high-end dual-channel DDR operation, and are a much safer buy than purchasing one module now and hoping to match it up later. The most popular configurations are currently the 2x512-MB and 2x1-GB kits, and with few exceptions, vendors offer the same basic speeds in matched pair DDR kits, as with their single module DDR.
Given that the single module DDR listings are extremely stable this week, we expected the same trends to be there for dual channel DDR. Unfortunately, this is exactly the case, and although there is a bit more pricing activity, it all evens out in the end, resulting in an aggregate chart increase of a single dollar. This is a big change from our previous update, where dual channel DDR headed the list in terms of overall price drops. There are a few double-digit price changes to report, as Corsair XMS PC3200LL 2x512-MB fell by $14 and Mushkin PC3200 2x1-GB and Crucial Ballistix 2x2-GB increased by $15 and $13, respectively.
