As with the DDR listings, we are also including a separate chart outlining the price of dual channel DDR2 memory kits. We are also concentrating mainly on DDR2-667 modules, along with a number of higher-end DDR2-800 and DDR2-1000 models, which are continuing to grow. DDR2 has moved well beyond the niche market stage, but it will take some time (and AMD jumping on board) before it becomes the de facto memory standard. Even so, there is a wide selection of matched pair DDR2 kits, including both 2x512-MB and 2x1-GB configurations, and we include listings from both the value and higher-end price ranges.
We definitely saved the best for last, and this week's dual channel DDR2 chart posts some very impressive price drops. In terms of individual cuts, there were two that hit triple-digits, and both were naturally Crucial DDR2-1000 matched pairs. Crucial Ballistix DDR2-1000 2x512-MB dropped by $118 and Crucial Ballistix DDR2-1000 2x1-GB received a $114 cut, while Patriot Extreme DDR2-1000 2x512-MB chimed in with a price drop of $52. There was one big price increase to report, as Crucial Ballistix DDR2-667 2x1-GB spiked by $61, but the aggregate chart drop was still just over $300.
