The number of dual-channel DDR platforms continues to increase, and has really created a different section of the memory market. The "matched pair" format is becoming increasingly popular, as these DDR module kits are perfectly suited for the requirements of high-end dual-channel DDR operation, and are a much safer buy than purchasing one module now and hoping to match it up later. The most popular configurations are currently the 2x512-MB and 2x1-GB kits, and with few exceptions, vendors offer the same basic speeds in matched pair DDR kits, as with their single module DDR.
As usual, the trends we see in the single module DDR listings are exacerbated in the dual channel DDR chart. This was certainly true this week, and the aggregate chart increase of $87 is more than double the activity in single module DDR. There was only one double-digit price drop, as Crucial Ballistix Tracer PC4000 2x512-MB fell $10, but there was some decided movement on the price increase side of things. Patriot PC4400 2x512-MB jumped a whopping $69, while Corsair XMS PC4000 2x1-GB (+$15) and Corsair XMS PC3200LL 2x1-GB (+$13) were the other two listing to increase by double digits.
