Memory Pricing Guide |
Memory Prices - Week of July 3, 2006 - Page 2By Vangie Beal July 3, 2006SDRAMAs we head into July, it seems that consumers can expect to pay the same price as they did in June - with almost no summer savings to be had yet. However, overall prices are stable, as we do see only slight $1 price drops on both PC133 ECC 128-MB and PC133 ECC 256-MB. This week we see several price fluctuations across the board, with the bigger savings (while still small in actual dollar amounts), coming in on DDR2 modules. The price of DDR2-533 1-GB and DDR2-667 1-GB are both down by $3 to $62 and $70 respectively, but unfortunately DDR2-667 1-GB increased by $3 to counter the price drops. The only price decrease on DDR memory is a $1 cut to PC2700 256-MB. We also have a few $1 increases and the price of PC3200 512-MB jumped $3 to $31. While the price change column here reflects more price increases, the overall dollar amounts are still quite low. For those looking at upgrading or purchasing RDRAM this week, the only change compared to our last guide is a pair of $4 decreases on PC800 512-MB and PC800 ECC 512-MB nodules, which both sit at a price of $125. Short of the two 512-MB modules, we didn't spot any other price changes on RDRAM. It's yet another week of few and small changes in terms of system memory prices. There were a few price drops this week, such as the two PC800 512-MB modules, but if you do some research, you might nab a shipping deal or get with a buddy to place a larger order, to decrease shipping costs or even score free shipping through an online vendor.
We'd like to take this opportunity to assure you that SharkyExtreme has no affiliation with any vendor listed in our guide, but our memory price charts do take more than just the basic dollar amount into consideration. Here are just a few examples to highlight some of the many things we keep in mind when compiling a price guide - which may translate into the price you see in our guide being different than one you find:
Since we don't have a direct line to every vendor doing business online, so if you know of a company selling quality products at decent prices that isn't making our price guide, feel free to drop us a line with the vendors URL, so we can check them out as well! Feedback (of any kind) on the Weekly Memory Prices is always read and appreciated! Until next week - happy upgrading!
