Memory Pricing Guide |
Memory Prices - Week of November 20, 2006 - Page 2By Vangie Beal November 20, 2006SDRAMWhile the past couple of guides have brought consumers a few good deals on SDRAM memory, this week's SDRAM prices remain virtually unchanged, with the exception of a $3 price increase PC133 CAS2 512-MB and a $1 increase on PC133 CAS3 256-MB. Much like the SDRAM prices, DDR prices are also somewhat stagnant this week, showing very little price movement in either direction. Consumers looking for PC3200 512-MB this week will pay $52 - a $3 savings over our last memory price report. The price of PC4000 1-GB is up $13 to $163, but with this increase, we also have switched out to a new vendor. DDR2 doesn't fair much better, and we see only a few $1 increases on both DDR2-533 512-MB and DDR2-800 1-GB this week. Those looking for memory savings this week, will find a couple of deals on RDRAM. The price of PC800 128-MB is down $3 to $32 this week, and we also see a $4 savings on PC800 ECC 128-MB. PC800 ECC 256-MB also fell $2 to $67 and a vendor change brings the price of PC1066 512-MB (184pin) down to $215 this week. Additional $1 savings can also be found on PC800 512-MB and PC800 ECC 512-MB. Savings on system memory are few and far between this week. The best deals can be found on RDRAM, especially with the new, lower $215 price tag on PC1066 512-MB (184pin). DDR memory offers a small $3 savings on PC3200 512-MB and as hard as we tried, not a deal worth mentioning could be found on DDR2 or SDRAM memory this week. The good news, of course, is that while prices remain stable, consumers looking to upgrade this week also won't have to spend any more money due to price increases. This week, if you intend to make a purchase, you may want to try a few Google searches for shipping discount coupon codes for your favorite online vendor to save a few dollars on your overall purchase price.
We'd like to take this opportunity to assure you that SharkyExtreme has no affiliation with any vendor listed in our guide, but our memory price charts do take more than just the basic dollar amount into consideration. Here are just a few examples to highlight some of the many things we keep in mind when compiling a price guide - which may translate into the price you see in our guide being different than one you find:
Since we don't have a direct line to every vendor doing business online, so if you know of a company selling quality products at decent prices that isn't making our price guide, feel free to drop us a line with the vendors URL, so we can check them out as well! Feedback (of any kind) on the Weekly Memory Prices is always read and appreciated! Until next week - happy upgrading!
