As with the DDR listings, we are including a separate chart outlining the price of dual channel DDR2 memory kits. We are also concentrating mainly on DDR2-667, DDR2-800, DDR2-1000 and DDR2-1066 modules, along with top-end DDR2-1100/1150/1200/1250 and higher models, the number of which is continuing to grow. Now that AMD has jumped on board, DDR2 has moved well beyond the niche market stage, and has now become the de facto memory standard for any new system purchase. There is currently a wide selection of matched pair DDR2 kits, including both 2x512-MB and 2x1-GB configurations, as well as 2x2-GB enthusiast-level kits that are starting to emerge, and specialized kits like the Corsair Dominator and OCZ FlexXLC.
Unfortunately, the situation doesn't get any better in the dual channel DDR2 chart, and we are finally seeing a few chinks in the price-cutting armor. There were three price drops that hit double digits, including a big $34 cut to Kingston HyperX DDR2-750 2x1-GB, but the pickings were slim after that. The price increases were more robust, offering up five double-digit price jumps, including a huge $77 spike to Crucial Ballistix Tracer DDR2-1066 2x1-GB. Corsair certainly dominated the price increase front, but there simply wasn't enough downward movement to offset it, and the dual channel DDR2 listings posted an aggregate chart increase of $96.
