As with the DDR listings, we are including a separate chart outlining the price of dual channel DDR2 memory kits. We are also concentrating mainly on DDR2-667, DDR2-800, DDR2-1000 and DDR2-1066 modules, along with top-end DDR2-1100/1150/1200/1250 and higher models, the number of which is continuing to grow. Now that AMD has jumped on board, DDR2 has moved well beyond the niche market stage, and has now become the de facto memory standard for any new system purchase. There is currently a wide selection of matched pair DDR2 kits, including both 2x512-MB and 2x1-GB configurations, as well as 2x2-GB enthusiast-level kits that are starting to emerge, and specialized kits like the Corsair Dominator and OCZ Reaper & FlexXLC.
The news is a lot better in the matched pair DDR2 chart, and here we finally see a few noticeable price drops. Six of these even reached double digits, including the OCZ Reaper DDR2-1150 2x1-GB (-$33), Corsair XMS2 DDR2-800 2x2-GB (-$30), Kingston HyperX DDR2-900 2x1-GB (-$15), and Kingston HyperX DDR2-1200 2x1-GB (-$15) kits. Thankfully, there was little going on at the other end of the chart, as a $6 jump to the price of Patriot Extreme DDR2-800 LL 2x2-GB was the largest we could find. This resulted in a positive overall chart trend, as the dual-channel DDR2 listing fell by an aggregate total of $122.
