As with the DDR listings, we are including a separate chart outlining the price of dual channel DDR2 memory kits. We are also concentrating mainly on DDR2-667, DDR2-800, DDR2-1000 and DDR2-1066 modules, along with top-end DDR2-1100/1150/1200/1250 and higher models, the number of which is continuing to grow. Now that AMD has jumped on board, DDR2 has moved well beyond the niche market stage, and has now become the de facto memory standard for any new system purchase. There is currently a wide selection of matched pair DDR2 kits, including 2x512-MB, 2x1-GB and 2x2GB configurations, and specialized kits like the Corsair Dominator and OCZ Reaper & FlexXLC.
The dual-channel DDR listings got some life back last week, and the chart featured a nice selection of price drops. We have some good news this week as well, and five of the DDR2 entries fell by double digits, with the largest hitting the OCZ Reaper DDR2-800 2x2GB (-$34), OCZ Reaper DDR2-1000 2x2GB (-$20) and OCZ Reaper DDR2-1150 2x1GB (-$14) kits. Unfortunately, a few matched pair listings jumped in price, including the PNY XLR8 DDR2-1066 2x1GB (+$19) and Kingston HyperX DDR2-1200 2x1GB (+$29) entries, which held the chart to an aggregate drop of only $80.
