As with the DDR listings, we are including a separate chart outlining the price of dual channel DDR2 memory kits. We are also concentrating mainly on DDR2-667, DDR2-800, DDR2-1000 and DDR2-1066 modules, along with top-end DDR2-1100/1150/1200/1250 and higher models, the number of which is continuing to grow. Now that AMD has jumped on board, DDR2 has moved well beyond the niche market stage, and has now become the de facto memory standard for any new system purchase. There is currently a wide selection of matched pair DDR2 kits, including 2x512-MB, 2x1-GB and 2x2GB configurations, and specialized kits like the Corsair Dominator and OCZ Reaper & FlexXLC.
There was a bit more activity in the dual-channel DDR2 listings this week, but it didn't amount to very much in the overall scheme of things. Four listings did fall by double digits, including the Corsair Dominator DDR2-1066 2x1GB (-$21) and G.SKILL DDR2-1100 2x2GB (-$12) listings, and there was a nice selection of smaller drops. A single dual-channel DDR2 kit jumped by double digits, as the OCZ DDR2-800 Platinum 2x2GB increased by $14, and the overall chart trend was still in the consumer's favor, with an aggregate drop of $62 this week.
