As with the DDR listings, we are including a separate chart outlining the price of dual channel DDR2 memory kits. We are also concentrating mainly on DDR2-667, DDR2-800, DDR2-1000 and DDR2-1066 modules, along with top-end DDR2-1100/1150/1200/1250 and higher models, the number of which is continuing to grow. Now that AMD has jumped on board, DDR2 has moved well beyond the niche market stage, and has now become the de facto memory standard for any new system purchase. There is currently a wide selection of matched pair DDR2 kits, including 2x512-MB, 2x1-GB and 2x2GB configurations, and specialized kits like the Corsair Dominator and OCZ Reaper & FlexXLC.
There was more activity in the dual-channel DDR2 chart this week, but other than a few larger price drops, the overall trend was one of stable pricing. Four listings fell by double digits, including the Kingston HyperX DDR2-1200 2x1GB (-$49), Mushkin Ascent DDR2-1066 2x2GB (-$24), and Kingston HyperX DDR2-1066 2x1GB (-$18) matched pair kits. There was also a large selection of smaller price decreases, and this was combined with a total lack of any price increases at all. This created a very nice week for DDR2 buyers, and the chart dropped by an aggregate total of $178.
