As with the DDR listings, we are including a separate chart outlining the price of dual channel DDR2 memory kits. We are also concentrating mainly on DDR2-667, DDR2-800, DDR2-1000 and DDR2-1066 modules, along with top-end DDR2-1100/1150/1200/1250 and higher models, the number of which is continuing to grow. Now that AMD has jumped on board, DDR2 has moved well beyond the niche market stage, and has now become the de facto memory standard for any new system purchase. There is currently a wide selection of matched pair DDR2 kits, including 2x512MB, 2x1GB, 2x2GB, and even 2x4GB configurations, and specialized kits like the Corsair Dominator and OCZ Reaper & FlexXLC.
The biggest surprise of this guide is the dual-channel DDR2 chart, which had previously been the picture of consistency, posting an overall chart drop each and every week. That streak ends here, and we found an aggregate chart increase of $39. There was some lower priced activity, including $10 off both the Crucial Ballistix DDR2-800 2x1GB and Kingston HyperX DDR2-1200 2x1GB kits, but the price increases quickly muffled any downward trends. OCZ Reaper DDR2-1000 2x2GB and Corsair Dominator DDR2-1066 2x1GB kits jumped by $10 and $12, respectively, but it was a massive $29 spike to the OCZ FlexXLC DDR2-1200 2x1GB kit that caused the most damage.
