As with the DDR listings, we are including a separate chart outlining the price of dual channel DDR2 memory kits. We are also concentrating mainly on DDR2-667, DDR2-800, DDR2-1000 and DDR2-1066 modules, along with top-end DDR2-1100/1150/1200/1250 and higher models, the number of which is continuing to grow. Now that AMD has jumped on board, DDR2 has moved well beyond the niche market stage, and has now become the de facto memory standard for any new system purchase. There is currently a wide selection of matched pair DDR2 kits, including 2x512MB, 2x1GB, 2x2GB, and even 2x4GB configurations, and specialized kits like the Corsair Dominator and OCZ Reaper & FlexXLC.
After the dual channel DDR2 chart posted a very surprising and unprecedented overall chart increase in our last update, we wondered if the trend would continue. Fortunately, it has not, but the price drops aren't exactly numerous either. A $30 cut to the price of a OCZ FlexXLC DDR2-1200 2x1GB kit was the only one of note, and a $7 jump to the OCZ Reaper DDR2-800 2x2GB matched pair is the largest price increase. Price consistency was the most common result this week, and the overall $47 chart drop is a far cry from past weeks.
