Memory Pricing Guide |
Weekly Memory Prices - Week of Mar 3, 2002 - Page 2By Vangie Beal March 5, 2002
This week, we're seeing a bit more movement in SDRAM prices... some good and others bad. On the brighter side, we see a nice $11 price drop on PC100 CAS2 128mb bringing the price down to $19.00 (one should be reminded, however that in recent price drops, we've had the drops quickly be followed increasse). PC133 CAS3 512mb also went down this week by $5 to $91.00. And we see a few $1.00 price changes on both PC100 and PC133 modules, this week, as well.
We know it was too good to last! It seems that the prices on Crucial's website have gone up again! In doing this guide, the prices we've taken from Crucial.com are all on non-ECC DIMMs. On PC2100 128mb, 256mb, 512mb went up $4, $9, and $23. As a last reminder, the prices given at Crucial end up being cheaper when you take shipping prices into account (a difference of $10+), which is why the seemingly "higher" prices have been listed in our guide. Those looking for RIMMs, this week, are still getting good news: Overall, PC800 prices are down again this week. PC800 512mb is down $9 to $220.00, while other RIMMs are down from $2 to $6 in price. Our guide is designed to give you a good idea on where memory prices are headed for a specific week. Since memory prices change daily, it is always a good idea to visit a vendor's website to ensure you know what their price is at any given moment. Many vendors also state that their price is specifically for a phone order, you should be reminded, while others offer the lowest prices on online orders. So do yourselves a favor and check prices again before deciding whether or not to buy.
