Memory Pricing Guide |
Biweekly Memory Prices - Week of July 26, 2010By SharkyExtreme.com Staff July 30, 2010This is the second installment of our biweekly memory price guide, so it's the first with entries in the "change from previous price" column -- happily, with a good number of entries, many in double digits. Look for savings on your favorite DRAM below. Here, we are concentrating on DDR2-800 and DDR2-1066 modules. We currently track a variety of matched-pair DDR2 kits, including 2x1GB, 2x2GB, and 2x4GB configurations. As a rule of thumb, we seek out performance/gaming modules with low Cas latencies and try to let the chart represent a range of manufacturers, product lines and vendors. Most of the prices we track in the dual-channel DDR2 chart held steady, but a handful did experience drops ... and some of those fell by pretty significant amounts. The biggest of these was a $27 drop in the tracked price of the Crucial Ballistix DDR2-1066 2x1GB kit, though two other double-digit drops (albeit smaller ones) are also there to be found.
