Memory Pricing Guide |
Biweekly Memory Prices - Week of December 27, 2010By SharkyExtreme.com Staff December 31, 2010
In this last issue of the year, we once again have a number of drops to report across all three charts of the guide. And while most of these jobs are by relatively modest amounts, some should come as welcome news for prospective buyers who'll be able to ring in the new year with some newly-purchased memory.
Here, we are concentrating on DDR2-800, and DDR2-1066 modules. We currently track a variety of matched pair DDR2 kits, including 2x1GB, 2x2GB, and 2x4GB configurations. As a rule of thumb, we see out performance/gaming modules with low Cas latencies and try to let the chart represent a range of manufacturers, product lines, and vendors. About half of the prices we track in the Dual-Channel DDR2 chart dropped in this issue of the guide. The biggest of these were a pair of $10 drops in the tracked prices of the Corsair XMS2 DDR2-800 2x2GB and Kingston HyperX DDR2-800 2x2GB kits.
