If the entry-level and mainstream video cards cover us to the $200 price mark, then the high-end market takes us home. Here there is really no price limit, and as long as it's a desktop 3D gaming card, then we'll do our best to fit it in. This segment really starts off with the Radeon 9800 Pro and GeForce FX 5900 cards, before finishing with the top-end Radeon 9800XT and GeForce FX 5950 cards, some of which can push $500.
The Radeon 9800 Pro 128-MB is the obvious value in the high-end market, and for just over $200, you get one of the fastest 3D video cards available. When you keep in mind that the Radeon 9800XT 256-MB is a slightly-higher clocked version of the same product, the Radeon 9800 Pro 128-MB really stands out from the crowd. Of course, if money is no object, ATI and NVIDIA fans should head for Radeon 9800XT 256-MB and GeForce FX 5950 waters, and get the highest framerates possible.
