April Video Card Price Guide - Page 4By SharkyExtreme.com Staff April 30, 2004Our definition of mainstream video cards encompasses the $100-$200 price range, and is really where you'll get the most bang for your buck. This is where you will find the latest mainstream video cards, like the Radeon 9600XT and GeForce FX 5700 Ultra, along with a few higher-end products that have been replaced at the top of the food chain. The mainstream video card area was all over the map, and we charted a wide range of price changes. The Radeon 9800SE cards are still looking mighty good, and these compare well against the Radeon 9600 Pro/XT-based models, and are even better if you intend to soft-mod. At the higher-end of the scale, the Radeon 9700 Pro 128-MB cards have jumped in price, due to a buying spree, and the Radeon 9800 Pro 128-MB (just above $200) and GeForce FX 5900 XT cards are a slightly better deal.
