May Video Card Price Guide - Page 4By SharkyExtreme.com Staff May 28, 2004Our definition of mainstream video cards encompasses the $100-$200 price range, and is really where you'll get the most bang for your buck. This is where you will find the latest mainstream video cards, like the Radeon 9600XT and GeForce FX 5700 Ultra, along with a few higher-end products that have been replaced at the top of the food chain. The mainstream video card segment is more stable than it was in April, but there are still some larger price shifts, and quite a few deals to be found. The Radeon 9800SE boards are a super value right now, and actually compare quite well against the Radeon 9600 Pro/XT models. After a month of inexplicable price increases (which ended at prices that rivaled the Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB), the Radeon 9700 Pro 128-MB cards dropped back down this month. The GeForce FX 5900 XT cards are also looking mighty fine at a retail price of under $190.
