June 2004 Video Card Price Guide - Page 3By SharkyExtreme.com Staff June 30, 2004We designate the entry-level market as video cards that have a street price of under-$100. These cards are targeted at value-system buyers, and we usually don't find the high-performance hardware at this price range. Of course, that doesn't mean that gaming performance or features have to suffer, and only having a C-Note in your pocket is no reason to start looking in the bargain bins. The entry-level video card selection was pretty stable again this month, but there are a few pockets where price changes did hit. Some of these were in the consumer's favor (Radeon 9500 128-MB), while a few other entry level cards showed significant gains. The best overall deals continue to be the ATI Radeon 9600SE and NVIDIA GeForce FX 5600XT cards, and both offer a lot of bang for the buck. This is especially true of the Radeon 9600SE, and its performance and feature set are a steal at a $64 price tag.
