July 2004 Video Card Price Guide - Page 4By SharkyExtreme.com Staff July 31, 2004Our definition of mainstream video cards encompasses the $100-$200 price range, and is really where you'll get the most bang for your buck. This is where you will find the latest mainstream video cards, like the Radeon 9600XT and GeForce FX 5700 Ultra, along with a few higher-end products that have been replaced at the top of the food chain. The mainstream video card market was pretty active again this month, including a few price cuts in some unexpected areas. Both the All-in-Wonder Radeon 9600, 9600XT and 9700 models dropped noticeably this month, and cuts to the latter two cards dropped them below the $200 mark. The NVIDIA GeForce FX 5700 and 5900XT cards are looking good at the middle of the list, but the Radeon 9800 Pro is the real gem in the sub-$200 range. As with the entry-level, we've added some new PCI Express boards, such as the ATI X600 Pro 128MB and GeForce PCX 5750 256MB.
