August Video Card Price Guide - Page 3By SharkyExtreme.com Staff August 30, 2004We designate the entry-level market as video cards that have a street price of under-$100. These cards are targeted at value-system buyers, and we usually don't find the high-performance hardware at this price range. Of course, that doesn't mean that gaming performance or features have to suffer, and only having a C-Note in your pocket is no reason to start looking in the bargain bins. The entry-level video card list is once again very stable this month, although there were a few double-digit price cuts. The most significant was a $33 cut to the Albatron GeForce FX 5200 Ultra 128MB, which now brings this entry-level performer to a more entry-level price. The ATI X300 SE 128MB PCI Express also dropped by over $20, the AOpen GeForce FX 5700LE sliced $17 off its ticket price, while the ATI Radeon 9550 128MB chimed in with a $10 cut. The ATI Radeon 9600SE is still the overall value leader, but the recent price cut to the GeForce FX 5700LE makes it a prime buy at the $80-$90 range.
