September Video Card Price Guide - Page 3By SharkyExtreme.com Staff September 29, 2004We designate the entry-level market as video cards that have a street price of under-$100. These cards are targeted at value-system buyers, and we usually don't find the high-performance hardware at this price range. Of course, that doesn't mean that gaming performance or features have to suffer, and only having a C-Note in your pocket is no reason to start looking in the bargain bins. The entry-level video card list shows a bit more price action than usual, in terms of both increases and decreases. The ATI X300 SE 128MB OEM PCI Express card received the largest cut, while the XFX GeForce FX 5500 256MB jumped by a similar amount. In terms of overall value, it's tough to beat the ATI Radeon 9600SE 128MB OEM, while the GeForce FX 5500, GeForce FX 5700LE and Radeon 9600 offer higher performance at the sub-$100 price range. Of the three, the GeForce FX 5700LE 128MB looks to be the top performance buy.
