September Video Card Price Guide - Page 6By SharkyExtreme.com Staff September 29, 2004
The following chart takes all of the tracked ATI and NVIDIA cards, and incorporates it into one monster price list, that is then sorted by the monthly price change. This gives us a slightly different view than in previous ATI and NVIDIA lists, as it identifies the month's biggest movers and shakers, and can really help identify the areas to take advantage of. When used with the other price charts, this list can add another dimension to the monthly video card prices, but keep in mind that the largest cuts may not translate into the best overall deal. This overall list confirms what the previous charts have been saying, and we see a few of the highlighted cards featured prominently at the top of the list. The Gigabyte Radeon X800 XT 256MB posts the most significant price cut, and we also find a few more Radeon X800-based cards right below it. ATI's PCI Express lines are also dropping, as evidenced by the second place finish of the ATI X600 XT 128MB and the ATI X600 Pro 128MB not far behind. These top "movers and shakers" encompass the entry-level, mainstream, and high-end markets, thereby giving a potential edge for all possible budget and performance requirements.
