November Video Card Price Guide - Page 6By SharkyExtreme.com Staff November 3, 2004
The following chart takes all of the tracked ATI and NVIDIA cards, and incorporates it into one monster price list, that is then sorted by the monthly price change. This gives us a slightly different view than in previous ATI and NVIDIA lists, as it identifies the month's biggest movers and shakers, and can really help identify the areas to take advantage of. When used with the other price charts, this list can add another dimension to the monthly video card prices, but keep in mind that the largest cuts may not translate into the best overall deal. This overall list confirms the individual charts and commentary, and we see a few of the highlighted cards featured prominently in the "movers and shakers" list. For the second month in a row, the Gigabyte Radeon X800 XT 256MB is tops on the list, and its value is really increasing at the ultra high-end level. The Visiontek Radeon X800 XT 256MB isn't far behind, and coming up fast we see a couple of GeForce 6800GT and 6600 cards. The PCI Express video cards continue to drop in price, and although new system demand may be constant, it is much lower in the enthusiast/upgrade camps. Now that AMD has PCIe-ready Athlon 64 platforms, look for this trend to possibly flatten out over the next few months.
