December Video Card Price Guide - Page 3By SharkyExtreme.com Staff December 3, 2004We designate the entry-level market as video cards that have a street price of under-$100. These cards are targeted at value-system buyers, and we usually don't find the high-performance hardware at this price range. Of course, that doesn't mean that gaming performance or features have to suffer, and only having a C-Note in your pocket is no reason to start looking in the bargain bins. As usual, there was not a great deal of activity in the entry-level video card market this month, and none of last month's mainstream boards snuck into our sub-$100 list. In terms of overall value, it's tough to beat the ATI Radeon 9600SE 128MB, although the GeForce FX 5700LE 128MB does offer a compelling choice for those looking for a bit higher performance in this class. PCI Express buyers have far less choice at this level, and are really looking at either the GeForce PCX 5300 128MB or Radeon X300 SE or LE models. Neither of these really has the juice to match a card like the GeForce FX 5700LE, and PCI Express value is much better at the mainstream level.
