January Video Card Price Guide - Page 3By SharkyExtreme.com Staff January 5, 2005We designate the entry-level market as video cards that have a street price of under-$100. These cards are targeted at value-system buyers, and we usually don't find the high-performance hardware at this price range. Of course, that doesn't mean that gaming performance or features have to suffer, and only having a C-Note in your pocket is no reason to start looking in the bargain bins. For the last few months none of the mainstream cards have dropped into the entry-level segment, and January 2005 is certainly no different. We have to make due with the standard sub-$100 card selection, although there was some price activity in certain areas. The usual suspects still rise to the top, and for overall value, the ATI Radeon 9600SE 128MB is one tough card to beat. Those looking for a bit more power should really look NVIDIA's way, as the GeForce FX 5700LE 128MB (AGP) and GeForce PCX 5750 128MB (PCIe) provide the best gaming bang for the buck. This is especially true on the PCI Express side, as the GeForce PCX 5750 is in a value class of its own.
