March 2005 Video Card Price Guide - Page 3By SharkyExtreme.com Staff March 4, 2005We designate the entry-level market as video cards that have a street price of under-$100. These cards are targeted at value-system buyers, and we usually don't find the high-performance hardware at this price range. Of course, that doesn't mean that gaming performance or features have to suffer, and only having a C-Note in your pocket is no reason to start looking in the bargain bins. It is a rare event for a mainstream video card to drop below the $100 mark and slide into our entry-level chart, but this has occurred to the second month in a row. Our new March entrants are the (surprise) NVIDIA GeForce PCX 5750 128MB PCI Express card, which fell $17 to its new price of $92, and the ATI X600 Pro 128MB PCIe, which dropped $5 to $98. The GeForce PCX 5750 128MB represents an exceptional value for entry-level buyers, with the only caveat being the need for a PCIe slot. For AGP buyers, the ATI Radeon 9600SE 128MB is still the value to beat, although the GeForce FX 5700LE AGP is an attractive performance option from NVIDIA.
