April Video Card Price Guide - Page 3By SharkyExtreme.com Staff April 1, 2005We designate the entry-level market as video cards that have a street price of under-$100. These cards are targeted at value-system buyers, and we usually don't find the high-performance hardware at this price range. Of course, that doesn't mean that gaming performance or features have to suffer, and only having a C-Note in your pocket is no reason to start looking in the bargain bins. Last month we had two video cards drop below the $100 mark and join our entry-level price chart - something of an unusual event. This month we have a single new entrant, as the ATI X300 256MB OEM PCI Express card shaved $13 off its price tag, and now sells for a very economical $95. Otherwise, we had the usual selection of nominal price cuts, and also with a surprise or two. The NVIDIA GeForce PCX 5300 128MB jumped $18, and is now almost on par with the more powerful NVIDIA GeForce PCX 5750 128MB. The prime buys in this area continue to be the ATI X600 Pro 128MB and NVIDIA GeForce PCX 5750 128MB for PCIe, while the ATI Radeon 9600SE 128MB and GeForce FX 5700LE are great bets for AGP systems.
