The following chart takes all of the tracked Parallel and Serial ATA hard drives and then incorporates them all into a monster chart, which is then sorted by retail price. It's a very extensive list, which gives you all the important price data, and can be a valuable shopping tool for those on limited budgets. This also gives us another way to view the data, and determine how each drive stacks up in terms of price, and then ensuring you make the best use of your gaming system dollar. We have also gotten rid of the $/GB column and replaced it with a SATA/PATA section to ensure there is no confusion about the interface of any drive models.

The overall price chart helps to illustrate where the best deals for each buying segment may exist, and for example, the sub-$100 range offers a few interesting choices. PATA buyers should flock to the Western Digital SE 200GB model, while high-end SATA performance is solved by the Maxtor DiamondMax 10 160GB model. These kinds of budget options exist at every price level, but for our money, the Western Digital SE is a tough act to beat on the PATA side, while both Maxtor and Seagate are pushing the envelope in terms of SATA II/NCQ performance and value.
