May Video Card Price Guide - Page 3By SharkyExtreme.com Staff May 9, 2005We designate the entry-level market as video cards that have a street price of under $100. These cards are targeted at value-system buyers, and we usually don't find the high-performance hardware at this price range. Of course, that doesn't mean that gaming performance or features have to suffer, and only having a C-Note in your pocket is no reason to start looking in the bargain bins. Last month we welcomed a new member to the entry-level club, although the ATI X300 256MB OEM PCIe is certainly nothing to get too excited about. This month's new entrant is a bit more intriguing, as the Radeon 9600XT 128MB received a healthy $27 cut, and now sits at a very attractive $96. For entry-level buyers with a C-Note burning a hole in their pockets, the Radeon 9600XT offers a lot of performance for the money and is a definite option for AGP shoppers. In terms of PCIe hot buys, the leaders continue to be the NVIDIA GeForce PCX 5750 128MB and ATI X600 Pro 128MB, both of which are fairly competitive with the Radeon 9600XT 128MB AGP.
