June Video Card Price Guide - Page 2By SharkyExtreme.com Staff June 10, 2005The NVIDIA-based video card market is a bit more splintered than the ATI one, and we still have the GeForce FX and GeForce4 cards available at street level, and really competing at the entry-level and mainstream sectors. Naturally, the GeForce FX and GeForce 6 Series lines receive a greater number of listings, and especially as we move to the popular GeForce FX/PCX and GeForce 6600 and 6800 levels. NVIDIA gets the same overall coverage as the ATI list, starting at the GeForce4 MX4000-8X and ending with the GeForce 6800 Ultra Extreme 256MB and Ultra 512-MB cards. But just like ATI, there are some NVIDIA cards that are becoming increasingly hard to locate, and we continue to adjust our list accordingly. As noted in the previous section, the NVIDIA list showed some price activity, but only registered half the total price cuts as in the ATI chart. This month showed continued downward movement on many GeForce 6800-based cards, including price drops at all GeForce 6800LE, 6800, 6800GT and 6800 Ultra levels. The GeForce 6600 and 6600GT boards have historically been an area of consistent price cuts, but this month we're seeing this slowing down considerably, and in some cases, prices even increased. The last-generation cards were very silent over the last month, with the only exception being a $48 cut to the NVIDIA GeForce PCX 5900.
