Our definition of mainstream video cards encompasses the $100-$199 price range, and is really where you'll get the most bang for your buck. This is where you will find the latest mainstream video cards, like the Radeon X700 Pro and GeForce 6600 and 6600GT, along with a few higher-end products that have been replaced at the top of the food chain, and have then dropped in price.
The mainstream video card list is usually where we see a few noticeable price drops mixed in with a few high-end cards dropping below the $200 mark and entering the mainstream market. For June, we welcome in a couple of NVIDIA GeForce 6800LE 128MB AGP cards, which offer a nice competitor to the value-priced Radeon X800 256MB card that came out of nowhere and into the mainstream performance lead. The GeForce 6800LE and Radeon X800 cards are at the top of the chart for mainstream performance buyers, as these are simply lower-clocked versions of the higher-end models.
