July Video Card Price Guide - Page 3By SharkyExtreme.com Staff July 7, 2005We designate the entry-level market as video cards that have a street price of under $100. These cards are targeted at value-system buyers, and we usually don't find the high-performance hardware at this price range. Of course, that doesn't mean that gaming performance or features have to suffer, and only having a C-Note in your pocket is no reason to start looking in the bargain bins. Each month we usually welcome a new entrant into the entry-level video card list, and for July, a whopping three cards made their way below the $100 mark. These included the NVIDIA GeForce 6200 256MB (AGP), ATI Radeon 9600XT 256MB, and ATI X600 XT 128MB (PCIe), all of which sit at the mid-to-high $90 range. For the performance crowd, the Radeon 9600XT 256MB is the best AGP choice, while the ATI X600 XT 128MB is a real contender for PCI Express buyers. Overall value is a bit tougher to allocate, but for our money, the recent price drops to the NVIDIA GeForce PCX 5750 128MB makes it a superb option for PCIe systems, while the venerable Radeon 9600SE 128MB is always a great choice for the AGP side.
