ATI and NVIDIA Video Cards: Price Changes

The following chart takes all of the tracked ATI and NVIDIA cards, and incorporates it into one monster price list, that is then sorted by the monthly price change. This gives us a slightly different view than in previous ATI and NVIDIA lists, as it identifies the month's biggest movers and shakers, and can really help identify the areas to take advantage of. When used with the other price charts, this list can add another dimension to the monthly video card prices, but keep in mind that the largest cuts may not translate into the best overall deal.

The overall price change list confirms our findings in the individual charts and commentary, and we again see a few of the highlighted cards featured prominently in the "movers and shakers" area. The top three cards are from the NVIDIA stable, while three of the top six price cuts hit NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GTX 256MB cards. The ATI X850 and X800-based video cards filled in the remainder of the Top 10, with the ATI All-in-Wonder Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB sneaking into the final slot. It's a great time to be buying at the enthusiast level, as the NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GTX 256MB offers a ton of performance for virtually no premium over the GeForce 6800 Ultra 256MB or Radeon X850 XT 256-MB cards.
