November 2005 Video Card Price Guide - Page 3By SharkyExtreme.com Staff November 4, 2005We designate the entry-level market as video cards that have a street price of under $100. These cards are targeted at value-system buyers, and we usually don't find the high-performance hardware at this price range. Of course, that doesn't mean that gaming performance or features have to suffer, and only having a C-Note in your pocket is no reason to start looking in the bargain bins. Each month we usually welcome a new entrant or two into the entry-level video card list, but this month fails to see a single new mainstream card falling below the $100 mark. In fact, none even came close, and to add insult to injury, the new ATI X1300 256MB PCIe card even debuted on the mainstream chart. In terms of value, the Radeon X550 cards offer a lot of bang for the buck for PCI Express buyers, while the ATI X600 Pro/XT 128MB and GeForce 6600 128MB continue to battle it out as the best PCI Express performance cards. On the AGP side, we really have a one-horse race, with the Radeon 9600XT 128MB taking top AGP honors on both counts.
