December 2005 Video Card Price Guide - Page 3By SharkyExtreme.com Staff December 16, 2005We designate the entry-level market as video cards that have a street price of under $100. These cards are targeted at value-system buyers, and we usually don't find the high-performance hardware at this price range. Of course, that doesn't mean that gaming performance or features have to suffer, and only having a C-Note in your pocket is no reason to start looking in the bargain bins. Each month we usually welcome a new entrant or two into the entry-level video card list, and this month the scenario plays out like clockwork. Both the ATI Radeon 9800SE 128MB and NVIDIA GeForce FX 5700 128MB drop just below the $100 threshold, but that's as much as we get in terms of major entry-level news. The Radeon X550 cards offer a lot of value for PCI Express buyers, while the ATI X600 XT 128MB and GeForce 6600 128MB cards continue to battle it out as the PCI Express performance crown. In terms of AGP graphics cards, the AGP versions of the GeForce 600 128MB continue to sport higher prices, so we're still in a one-horse race, with the Radeon 9600XT 128MB hitting on both value and performance cylinders.
