January Video Card Price Guide - Page 3By SharkyExtreme.com Staff January 18, 2006We designate the entry-level market as video cards that have a street price of under $100. These cards are targeted at value-system buyers, and we usually don't find the high-performance hardware at this price range. Of course, that doesn't mean that gaming performance or features have to suffer, and only having a C-Note in your pocket is no reason to start looking in the bargain bins. Each month we usually welcome a new entrant or two into the entry-level video card list, and this month we barely hit the trend, as the ATI Radeon X1300 256MB drops $7 to $93. Otherwise, it's business as usual for the entry-level market and it's virtually the same collection of video cards as last month. Within that framework we do have a few price shifts, such as the $24 cut to the ATI Radeon 9800SE 128MB, which now sits at only $75, and the NVIDIA GeForce FX 5700LE 128MB and NVIDIA GeForce 6200 128MB cards, which dropped by $12 and $14, respectively. The ATI X600 XT 128MB and GeForce 6600 128MB cards continue to be the top PCIe performance bets, while the new lower price of the Radeon 9800SE 128MB gives the Radeon 9600XT 128MB some very real competition.
